Some projects start out with great bones already in place. For this suburban property, time had taken its toll on what was once a lovely landscape design. Over the years, varying types of hardscape materials were used to create walkways, along with a terrace and deck. Several of the walkways were submerged beneath built-up soil or overgrown plants.
By keeping what worked and replacing disparate pavers with unified materials, the new design builds on the existing site to create a beautiful, functional garden. The new design calls for creation of a new bed on the hillside at the front of the house, replacement of the front lawn with ornamental grasses and bulbs, and the addition of several key shrubs to frame the composition. In the back garden, an elliptical lawn space will be framed by a woodland garden.
Images will be added as the project progresses.
